The Department Research Committee provides oversight and review of all internal funding applications. Committee recommendations are made to the Chair for final action. Proposals may be submitted at any time however the committee reviews applications quarterly (Jan, April, July, Oct). Proposals specific to the TRIP lab may be evaluated by the TRIP Leadership Team in conjunction with the Research Committee.
Research and Development (R&D) Proposals
R&D funds are used to support investigator-initiated projects in education, research (basic, clinical, translational) and/or development. Department faculty, scientists and residents are eligible to apply. This mechanism is used for internal TRIP funding requests. Please refer to the R&D policy and application for more details.
Bridge Proposals
The Department recognizes the need for intermittent funding for labs that are without sponsored funds for a period of time. Bridge funding awards are used to sustain a laboratory at a basal level. Full disclosure of all other available and pending funds at the time of submission for bridge funds is required. Please refer to the Bridge policy and application for more details.
Capital Exercise Funds
The Department Research Faculty will convene and discuss annual available capital exercise funds. An annual proposal to spend the funds will be passed along to the Chair for review and final action.
